Support the Preservation of the Historic Sailing Ship Shtandart!

For any wooden ship, regular inspection and maintenance of the underwater hull are not just routine—they’re a lifeline. The sailing ship Shtandart, a unique piece of maritime history, is no exception.

In January-February 2025, we will be lifting Shtandart ashore for critical inspection and repairs. This essential dry-docking is an opportunity to safeguard the ship’s seaworthiness and ensure her future on the waves.

To accomplish this, we need your help. Our goal is to raise €10,000 to cover the costs of this vital work.

Here’s what your support will help us achieve:

  • Renewing protective antifouling layers to shield the wooden hull from destructive marine woodboring worms.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on the historic rudder blade and the entire steering system.
  • Inspecting and servicing the propeller shafts and shaft lines, ensuring smooth sailing for years to come.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all seacocks and seawater pipelines, vital to the ship’s safety.
  • Replacing one of the Furuno echo sounder sensors, an essential tool for navigation.

These necessary tasks come at a significant cost due to the price of materials, specialized labor, and essential spare parts.

Since June, Shtandart has faced challenging times. The ship has been unable to participate in festivals, welcome visitors, or conduct voyages with trainees. This has left our budget stretched to the limit.

We are calling on the incredible community of Shtandart supporters to help us keep this beloved ship sailing. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.

You can donate via PayPal, Tinkoff Bank (now T-Bank), or Stripe—links are provided below. Your generosity will directly support Shtandart’s maintenance and ensure she continues to inspire and connect people through her voyages.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Captain and Crew of the Sailing Ship Shtandart
