Sail Across the North Sea: Stavanger to Harwich Aboard the Shtandart

Set sail from the fjord-lined coast of Stavanger, Norway, and cross the legendary North Sea to reach the historic English port of Harwich. Aboard the Shtandart, a replica of an 18th-century frigate, this voyage offers a hands-on experience of life at sea as it was centuries ago.

Step Into the Role of an 18th-Century Sailor

This is more than just a crossing — it’s a living adventure. On the Shtandart, you’re not a passenger, you’re crew. You’ll help sail the ship:

  • Hoist and adjust sails, handle ropes, and keep watch
  • Climb the rigging for unforgettable views
  • Learn to navigate using landmarks, the compass, and the stars
  • Steer the 34-meter frigate through wind and wave

Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned sailor, the experienced crew will guide and support you throughout the voyage.

A Journey of Culture, Courage, and the Sea

Crossing from Scandinavia to the British Isles means sailing a route rich in maritime lore — once traveled by merchants, adventurers, and explorers. Along the way, witness open-sea horizons, variable winds, and a true connection to the rhythm of nature.

This is a journey for those seeking something more: challenge, teamwork, freedom, and the timeless pull of the ocean. Sail with us from Stavanger to Harwich — and become part of a story centuries in the making.

Accommodation and Amenities:

Choose to sleep in a hammock, just like sailors did three centuries ago, or opt for a bunk. Both at sea and onshore, we provide four meals a day. Life on board is divided into watches, in which you will actively participate throughout your stay.
