Shtandart is not in Aberdeen: Letters of Support

Dear Captain and crew of Shtandart,

I just wanted to show my support for you and the ship and all that you do. I feel very frustrated that you have been denied entry into ports for the tall ships race and not made to feel welcome. We should be allowing people to meet you and learn about the amazing ship, history and background,as well as getting to know the crew. It is a good way for people to have a better understanding and help change attitudes. The Tall ships a d sailing is about bringing good people together without prejudice and this action of banning entry has spoilt it.
The fact that you are sailing along with the ships when they make there journey is a lovely gesture as you could quite easily decided to go.
I would have loved to have seen your beautiful ship and might do when I sail out later today.
Meantime I just wanted to let you know that althoughI am just a member of the public I support you and with you in spirit. Keep doing what you do.

Good afternoon,

I wanted to write to you and tell you me and my family total support you and your crew. We are appalled you have been banned from UK ports.

We will come this afternoon to view you and your ship and support you.

There are many people here that are appalled at how you’ve been treated.

Kind regards and safe seas.

Cerne Deverell and family.

Safe sailings, my old shipmates!

I hope you met some friends in Scotland.

And I hope you’ll meet more friends in Norway after all.

The regular folks ashore are really missing out because of those dumb politics.

It was amazing to witness the sheer HAPPINESS that Shtandardt brings to those people lucky enough to set foot on board her decks.

There was this man on the Orkney Isles who basically was like a child so excited at being there!

I’m absolutely convinced, no matter the political hardships, you still bring JOY wherever you go.

So many people genuinely love seeing Shtandardt in their ports.
