Shtandart navigate in the Atlantic Ocean – in the Bay of Biscay, and what we are doing now is what the ship was built for: we provide for maritime practice, for sai-training.French ports are currently not available for the Shtandart. This is the result of the sanctions of the European Union. Traditional ships and historical replicas were listed there by separate line.Since Shtandart is the only historical replica that actively sails the seas, these sanctions are individually against Shtandart. Of course, we do not agree with this. We are appealing this decision in the European Court. This process is long, it requires a lot of time, a lot of resources. We hope that we will be able to find these resources and The Justice will prevail.Here in France, we see and feel support from everyone: from sailors, from ordinary people, from organizers of maritime festivals, and even from politicians – but we must understand that politicians are all under pressure of the EU.How you can help Shtandart now: show support on an even broader level. Our friends have launched a Petition on the change.org to preserve Shtandart as a piece of world cultural heritage. You can find this petition and sign it. Over 25 years, the ship has hosted 10,000 people and participated in 200 maritime festivals across Europe.On July 7, however, it was barred from one of the world's largest gatherings, the Brest Maritime Festival, by an order from the prefect of Finistère. The reason: the extension, on June 24, of European sanctions against Russia to include "historic replica ships.""Fight the regime, not the culture""This law is not just. And we want to change it as soon as possible," declared the frigate's captain, Vladimir Martus, during a public meeting on Tuesday at a bar in the port of Brest."This boat represents a part of Russian culture, it's true, we're not going to argue that.
