In the fall of 2017, the frigate Shtandart lost four mermaids and tritons that adorned its bow during a storm in the North Sea. Only one of them was found, on a beach in the Netherlands. In honor of the ship’s 20th anniversary, which will take place on September 4th, funds have been raised by the Dutch Friends of Shtandart Foundation to replace the missing figures.
