The Shtandart is Back on the Water – Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers!

On January 14, the Shtandart was relaunched, stronger and better than ever!

For nearly a month, she rested in dry dock while we poured our hearts and effort into her restoration. During this time, we:
Performed maintenance on the steering system,
Replaced fastenings for the hull planks,
Caulked the ship to ensure she stays seaworthy,
Cleaned the hull and gave it a fresh coat of anti-fouling paint,
Serviced all sea-chests and pipes in contact with water,
Carried out essential maintenance on the propeller shafts and propellers.

And none of this would have been possible without our incredible crew of 50 volunteers from 8 countries! The youngest was just 18, the oldest an inspiring 78—and every single one of them gave their all. Volunteers did an amazing job—huge thanks to each and every one of you! 👏

Of course, works must be honored! The moment the repairs were done, we set sail with our volunteers. Even the chilly February winds couldn’t dampen our spirits—the trip was fantastic!
During the repair period, everyone got to know the ship inside and out, and we also held navigation lessons that could finally be put into practice at sea.

Now, we set our sights on April, when our big sailing voyages begin. And, of course, our volunteers are always welcome aboard! As always, days of hard work on repairs are rewarded with unforgettable days at sea!
